Thanks to a wonderful donation from a friend in New York, our after-school photography program finally has something to build on.We've been operating with no budget for the past six months, and have been scrambling to find money for equipment, let alone notebooks for our students to study photography and film. But yesterday, we received a plethora of goodies, including about ten cameras dating from 1909 - 1980s. After we inventory all the items, get owners manual or instruction booklets, we should be off and running with all things non-digital. We even got some chemicals to start our own dark room prints and reals.
It is unselfish donations like these that keep me wanting to teach photography and film to my students. Hopefully, we can post some pictures that we've taken with this equipment in the near future.
